/REUTERS Almaty office, Sep.08, 99/ - Public Relations Department of the
Ministry of power, industry and trade informed that Kazakhstan has complied
the request of importers and has deferred the interdiction of import of the
goods without Kazakh and Russian marking from October 01 to February 01.
"According to the numerous requests both importers and our manufacturers,
terms of introduction of obligatory drawing of necessary information about
the goods in Kazakh and Russian languages were changed: import of goods
without indicated information will be forbidden from February 1, 2000, their
sell - from April 1, 2000", - it is said in the press release.
Such companies as Coca-Cola, Nestle, Wriggle, Feline Electronic, Unilever
have applied with the request to defer the date.
The change of the data is explained by rather big duration for the approval of
design changes, translation of specifications into required languages and
also by additional not scheduled companies' spending, the ministry marks.
The marking in Kazakh (state) and Russian (official) languages should show
the complete information about the goods: purpose, composition, application,
storage condition and so on.
