/IRBIS, Sep. 01, 99/ - According to REUTERS, at the moment of closing of
the Kazakhstan OTC market on September 01 the tenge quotations were
made 132.18 (demand) / 132.28 (supply) tenge per dollar at the average
weighted exchange rate 132.12 (-0.14) and quotations at session closing
132.17/19.
By the dealers' over-the-counter quotations, tenge in comparison with the
previous day rose by 5 points - on demand and by 10 points - on supply. By
these data it is possible to speak, that the KASE's tendency of
strengthening of tenge was confirmed by the OTC market. However,
comparing the day closing quotations and the exchange market rates
(average weighted and at closing), it is possible to see a weak tendency of
dollar strengthening in the OTC market wednesday after dinner.
Second half of the day has not cleared the situation. Attempt to change the
tendency toward the dollar decreasing, undertaken by some large banks on
KASE, was not successful. The market waits for. At the day ending the
quotations spreads grown up to 10 points, and the frequency of quoting
sharply decreased.
In all probability, tomorrow traders on KASE will be obliged to adapt to
circumstances and the market condition will be formed during the events'
development.
