USD/KZT at closing of the day - 131.94 / 132.02 (indicators)

/IRBIS, Aug.19, 99/ - According to REUTERS, at closing of over-the-counter foreign exchange market of Kazakhstan on August 19 tenge quotations towards US dollar have made 131.94 (demand) / 132.02 (supply) tenge per dollar with the weighted average Exchange's price of 131.92 (-0.23) and the quotes at closing of the Exchange's session of 131.92 / 131.94. Based on dealers' over-the-counter market quotations, tenge lost on demand against American currency 23 points, and 25 points on supply compared to previous day's closing. After the trades at KASE the dollar slightly strengthened against tenge. Just like yesterday, at the end of the day demand price was above the weighted average by 2 points, supply price was above by 10 points. Spreads on the over-the-counter market varied from 2 to 10 points, 6 points on average. It indicates that the dealers are sure of the trends. Quotations for interbank "overnight" tenge deposits remain at the same level. Analysts at IRBIS stress that all the indicators show trades at KASE on Friday will open higher than the weighted average exchange rate on Thursday. More detailed forecasts are inappropriate today, since the behavior of the banks of the second tier can be hardly explained by the analysts at IRBIS.
