In January-May 2012 volume of foreign currency trading at KASE decreased by 23.3 % and made up KZT5.2 trn ($35.0 bn)

/KASE, June 4, 12/ - In the period from January to May 2012, the volume of foreign currencies trading at Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), including currency swap transactions, made up KZT5,176.9 bn (USD34,985.8 m) and decreased against the same period of 2011 by 23.3 % (24.3 % expressed in USD). In comparison with the previous five month period (August-December 2011) the trades volume decreased by 22.4 % (22.6 % in USD). Tenge revalued against the US dollar on weighted average exchange rate in the current year at 0.81% (0,55) APR. In the first five months of 2012 the revaluation rate of tenge to US dollar in nominal value made up 0.23 %. In 2011 the revaluation rate of tenge to US dollar in nominal value made up 0.61 %.
