In January - February 2012, foreign currencies trades volume on KASE decreased by 30.2 % and made up KZT1.8 trln ($12.4 bn)

/KASE, March 5, 12/ - In January - February 2012, foreign currencies
trades volume on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), including currency
swap transactions, made up KZT1,843.0 bn (USD12,433.7 m) and decreased
against the same period of 2011 by 30.2 % (31.0 % in USD).
In comparison with the previous two month period (November-December
2011) trades volume decreased by 21.7 % (21.9 % in USD).

Weighted average rate of tenge to dollar, calculated on all deals of the
main (morning) trading session on KASE in the period January 3, 12 to
February 29, 12, made up KZT148.23 per dollar, on all exchange deals -
KZT148.21 per dollar.
Tenge reinforced against dollar on weighted average exchange rate in
the current year by 2.68 % APR. In initial two months of 2012 revaluation
rate of tenge to dollar in nominal value made up 0.44 %.
In 2011 tenge devalued to dollar in nominal value by 0.61 %.
In 2010 revaluation rate of tenge to dollar in nominal value made up 0.65 %.
