/KASE, January 6, 12/ - KAZAKHMYS PLC (London), whose shares are officially listed at Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), has provided KASE with the following communique of December 30, 2011: quote Kazakhmys PLC ("Company") notifies that in accordance with the shares buyback program announced on August 25, 2011, it concluded an irrevocable agreement with its corporate brokers - "Citigroup Global Markets U.K. Equity Limited" ("Citi") and "J.P Morgan Securities Ltd." ("JPM"), on buyback in its own name and within parameters set in advance of ordinary shares of Kazakmys PLC throughout the closing period commenced on January 3, 2012 and due to end presumably as of the date of release of the Annual Management report for the year ending December 31, 2011. Commercial decisions of Citi and JPM during the closing period will be taken independently from the Company and without its influence.
