In January - November 2011 foreign currencies trades volume on KASE increased by 2.3 % and made up KZT14.4 trn ($98.0 bn)

/KASE, December 2, 11/ - In the period from January to November 2011 the foreign currencies trades volume on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), including currency swap transactions, made up KZT14,360.4 bn (equivalent to USD97,995.4 m) increasing against the same period of 2010 by 2.3 % (by 2.9 %, expressed in USD). In comparison with the previous eleven month period (February-December 2010) trades volume decreased by 3.2 % (by 2.7 %, expressed in USD). Tenge was losing its value against dollar on the weighted average exchange rate in the current year by 0.14 % APR. For the initial eleven months of 2011 the revaluation rate of tenge to US dollar in nominal value made up 0.13 %. In 2010 tenge revalued to US dollar by 0.65 % in nominal value.
