Kazakhstan and Ukraine are planning to activate cooperation in the field of joint industrial-innovative projects

/IRBIS, November 24, 2011/ - In Astana, the Prime Minister of
Kazakhstan Karim Massimov met with Prime Minister of Ukraine
Nikolai Azarov, said the press service of Kazakhstani Prime Minister.
As indicated, the parties discussed the issues of deepening trade
and economic relations between countries. Kazakhstan and Ukraine
plan to intensify cooperation in the joint industrial-innovative projects.
During the meeting, Karim Masimov and Nikolai Azarov noted the
need to strengthen economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and
Ukraine.
"Those relationships that exist between our two countries, allow us to
speak honestly, openly, and find solutions for all the existing issues
to ensure that our countries move faster, and our people to live
better," - said Karim Massimov during a meeting with Nikolai Azarov.
In turn, Nikolai Azarov congratulated Kazakhstan with very good
results of socio-economic development. "The way in which
Kazakhstan passed through the economic crisis - is impressive", -
said Prime Minister of Ukraine. He stressed that the current situation
in the global economy requires a calibrated rate, and in this regard,
bilateral cooperation will help minimize the risks that were outlined in
the economy of many countries.
Prime Minister of Ukraine said that in 2011 completed the Action
Plan Ukraine and Kazakhstan - a document that helped increase
performance trade-economic relations, and offered to prepare a plan
of action for 2012-2013.
The negotiations resulted in signing of the Agreement on
Cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan,
and Ukraine.
At the final briefing, K. Massimov noted that "today we had the
opportunity to discuss issues of deepening and broadening our
bilateral cooperation".
"I am very pleased that the conversation we have turned informal,
very specific. This is possible due to the fact that relations between
the presidents of our countries are at a very high political level and
friendly", - said Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.
Karim Massimov noted that during the talks the sides discussed
issues of transit potential of Ukraine and Kazakhstan, the
cooperation in the field of nuclear energy and in space. In addition,
he emphasized that the industrialization was a priority of the country
and invited Ukrainian companies to develop joint ventures in
Kazakhstan.
In turn, Nikolay Azarov stressed that Ukraine was ready to participate
in the program of industrialization of Kazakhstan.
"We are ready to participate in such a large program of
industrialization of Kazakhstan, and under the same conditions
suggest that the local companies, businesses involved in new
projects in Ukraine. We are interested in this. Tremendous potential
of our countries, without exaggeration I can say it. Even those
amount of cooperation that we came out, far from reflecting the
potential of our cooperation", - stated the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
"Kazakhstan is our second largest trade partner after Russia. This
has been achieved only because the President and the Government
of both countries pay great attention to our cooperation", - said
Nikolay Azarov.
At the final briefing, it was noted that all the agreements reached will
be the basis for the formation of the Action Plan for 2012-2013 or the
Roadmap-4 and will be discussed in December at the next meeting
of intergovernmental commission in Astana.
In the afternoon, Karim Masimov and Nikolay Azarov will take part in
the opening of the Kazakh-Ukrainian business forum.
Foreign trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Ukraine in January-
August 2011 was 2.9 billion U.S. dollars, compared to the same
period in 2010 increased by 1.5 times. The volume of exports of
Kazakh products in Ukraine amounted to 1.8 billion U.S. dollars,
compared to the same period in 2010 increased by 4 times. Imports
of goods from Ukraine to Kazakhstan amounted to 1.1 billion U.S.
dollars, compared to the same period in 2010 increased by 28.4%.
