Food prices in October 2011 compared with October 2010 increased by 10.7%

/IRBIS, November 1, 2011/ - Food prices in Kazakhstan in October 2011 compared with October 2010 increased by 10.7%, was indicated in the report released today by the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Statistics. It is reported that in October 2011 compared with the corresponding month in 2010 prices of cereals increased by 1.8 times, fats and oils - by 15.9%, flour - by 12.4%, dairy products - by 10.2% and confectionery products - by 8.8%, pasta - 8.5%, coffee, tea and cocoa - by 7.8%, alcoholic beverages - by 5.3%, sugar - by 3.4%, bread - 2.7%, fruits and vegetables - by 1.7%. The prices for meat and meat products during this period were higher by 19.5%. The level of prices for mutton was higher by 25.4%, horse meat - by 17.5%, meat products - by 11.7%, pork - by 8.9%, poultry - by 6%.
