Profit of large- and medium-scale enterprises of Kazakhstan for the second quarter of 2011 increased by 21.5%

/IRBIS, October 14, 2011/ - The financial result of large and
medium-sized enterprises in the second quarter 2011 was
determined as profit in the amount of KZT 1,617.8 billion, said
today the Republic of Kazakhstan Agency on Statistics.
As noted, the financial result of large and medium-sized
enterprises in the second quarter 2011 determined as the profit
in the amount of 1,617.8 billion tenge, which is 21.5% above the
same period of 2010. The level of profitability was 29.6%. The
share of unprofitable enterprises among the total number of
report was 37.1%.
Number of registered legal entities as of October 1, 2011
amounted to 297,452 units, an increase over the same period
last year by 102.5%, including 281,331 units with staff less than
50 employees. The number of operating entities totaled
176,008, among which small firms account for 161,011 units.
Number of small business entities (legal persons) in the country
amounted to 214,496 units and an increase over the same
period last year by 103.4%.
