The amount of banks' lending to the economy of Kazakhstan for August 2011 increased by 1.2%

/IRBIS, October 12, 2011/ - The total volume of banks' lending to
the economy in August 2011 rose by 1.2% to KZT 8,281.1 billion
(an increase from the beginning of the year at 9.1%), reported
today the National Bank of Kazakhstan.
The volume of credits in national currency increased by 2.2% to
5,161.8 billion, in foreign currency - decreased by 0.5% to 3,119.3
billion tenge. The share of loans in tenge in August 2011
compared to July 2011 increased from 61.7% to 62.3%.
Long-term lending in August 2011 increased by 0.4% to 6,828.8
billion, short-term increased by 5.2% to 1,452.3 billion KZT. The
share of long-term debt in August 2011 compared to July 2011
decreased from 83.1% to 82.5%.
Loans to legal entities for August 2011 increased by 1.8% to
6,056.0 bln, individuals - fell by 0.4% to 2,225.1 billion. The share
of loans to individuals decreased from 27.3% in July 2011 to
26.9% in August 2011.
Lending to small businesses for August 2011 decreased by 2.2%
to 1,340.5 billion, representing 16.2% of the total credits to
economy.
In the sectoral breakdown of the most significant amount of bank
loans falls on economy sectors such as trade (share in total -
20.5%), industry (11.6%), construction (18.3%), transport (4.0% )
and agriculture (3.8%).
In August 2011 the weighted average interest rate on loans in
national currency of nonbank legal entities was 11.8% (in July
2011 - 12.0%), natural persons - 19.9% (21.0%).
