/IRBIS, August 17, 2011/ - JSC BTA Bank's Subsidiary
organization BTA Securities (BTA Securities, Almaty) has
provided IRBIS with a survey of main events, forecasts and
investment ideas for August 17, 2011.
According to the report, analysts note that the premarket on
world markets is composed as follows:
- Major indexes in Europe and the U.S. finished trading with
negative movement. In Asia in general, the prevalence of
bearish sentiment was also observed. The cost of raw
materials fell yesterday, as the paper Kazakh companies in
foreign markets were in negative territory. All this points lead
to a likely decrease in quotations of the majority of issuers
today. In particular, sales of shares may occur to
Kazakhmys. On BCC purchases are possible in response to
the significant decline the previous day, but two other
representatives of the banking sector will come under
pressure. Shares of KMG look attractive, which could lead to
the growth of quotations by 1.2-2%.
- Major Asian markets today are moving in different directions.
The Tokyo Stock Exchange Nikkei index down 0.4% on
concerns about the fact that Merkel-Sarkozy plan for taxes
would slow economic growth in the eurozone. Not pleased
with the Japanese exporter and the data to reduce the rate
of new housing construction in the U.S. with 10.8% in June
to 1.5% in July. Support for the Chinese indices has
suddenly taken off China Coal Energy profits in the first half
to 8.7%. Shanghai Composite now adds 0.05%, Hang-Seng
is rising by 0.94%.
- EUR/USD rate is at 1.4404. In general, market participants
are concerned about the fact that the main euro-zone
economies, Germany and France are trying to separate from
the risks (as evidenced by the rejection of the idea of unified
Eurobond) coming from peripheral countries, but also
assuring the outside world about the necessity and
usefulness of a deep integration. The situation in the country
remains stable PIIGS negative, but in spite of this plan to
further tightening of fiscal requirements. Reluctance to
increase the size of the stabilization fund indicates that in
countries like Italy and Spain to deterioration in debt should
not count on bail-out. Today CPI data for the eurozone is
expected. In general, the euro/dollar could fall into the
hallway of 1.432 - 1.438.
- Slight increase in quotations is observed in the commodity
markets. Brent crude oil exceeded the mark of $ 109.6 per
barrel. Copper futures for delivery in Shanghai rise in price
by 0.07% in response to the increasing volume of purchases
of industrial metal by China, which led to a significant
reduction in stocks of metal on the stock exchanges. Gold
prices are down slightly, leaning below $1,787 per ounce.
