On the market of oil and oil products in Kazakhstan in January-May 2011

/IRBIS, July 15, 2011/ - Resources of oil in January-May 2011 were formed in the volume of 31,029.4 thousand tons, or 0.4% less than in the corresponding period in 2010, stated in the report released today by the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Statistics. At the same time crude oil production in the country increased by 2.5% and imports decreased by 22.9%. Crude increasingly exported to other countries. In the analyzed period in the country processed only 4.2% of the resources of crude oil, against 10.1% of the volume of January-May 2010. The share of exports of crude oil in total resources rose from 89.9% in January-May 2010 to 95.8% in January-May 2011. In January-May 2011 increased sales of petroleum products in the domestic market (excluding liquefied propane and butane). Domestic needs are not fully provided by domestic production, so the oil resources have to be imported. For example, the share of motor gasoline imports in its total resources amounted to 27.5% (in January-May 2010 - 16.1%), kerosene - 29.5% (15.9%), diesel fuel - 1.3% (6.5%). [2011-07-15]
