/IRBIS, June 21, 2011/ - "ASYL-INVEST" JCS (Almaty) has provided
IRBIS with the review of main events and its investment ideas and
forecast for June 20, 2011
Trading on the Kazakhstan stock market ended with decrease on
Tuesday. KASE index decreased by 0.25% to 1,552.85 points. With
growth finished the day shares of ENRC (+1.9%), Kazakhtelecom
(+0.3%), fall - KKB shares (-3.9%), shares of EP KMG (-0.3%).
Activity of market participants was relatively high. Trading volume on
the shares of KASE index on Tuesday was 359.2 million tenge.
Trading in shares and depositary receipts of Kazakhstan issuers on the
London Stock Exchange on Tuesday ended with mixed trends. The
best dynamics demonstrated GDRs of NSBK (5.05%). Stocks
commodity companies have not shown unified dynamics. Kazakhmys
shares rose by 4.1%, shares of ENRC - 2.3%, GDR KMG - 0.7%.
Zhaikmunai GDR decreased by 0.5%, GDR of Kazakhgold - 1.9%.
Today, the external background for the Kazakh stock market is
composed as moderately positive. Analysts of "Asyl INVEST" expect
growth of index following the trading.
In addition, analysts of ASYL INVEST note the following events on
world markets:
- Major U.S. stock indices finished the session on Tuesday with
growth amid growing confidence of market participants that votes
in the Greek Parliament on the government's credibility would be
a success, paving the way to the policy of reducing public
expenditure. DJIA Dow Jones (+0,9%) and the index of wide
market S & P 500 (1.34%) finished the session of Tuesday with
the growth of a fourth consecutive day. The best dynamics was
led by the sector of "basic materials" (+3.15%). Shares of oil and
gas sector closed the day with growth (1.92%), despite lower oil
prices. Of economic statistics on Tuesday took data on sales of
existing homes for May. Home sales decreased by 3.8% to 4.81
million. Economists had forecast a 5% drop to 4.8 million. In
general activity of market participants was relatively high. The
trading volume on the NYSE totaled 851.16 million shares, while
turnover - $23.8 billion
- In the focus of the market today will be the report on the FOMC
monetary policy and thus the speech of the U.S. Federal
Reserve Ben Bernanke. This report is very important in
connection with the expiration of QE2. Market participants are
interested in what the U.S. Federal Reserve will take in terms of
the debt crisis in the eurozone.
- Major stock indexes in Western Europe rose on Tuesday due to
technical factors and expectations of market participants about
the success of the vote in the Greek Parliament on the issue of
trust in government. In the case of a successful election in
Greece, it is likely to receive 12 billion euros of financial
assistance. As it became known today, the Greek Parliament
has expressed confidence in the government.
- Today, there are data on euro area industrial new orders in April,
data on consumer confidence in June. The focus of the market is
drawn to the Greek issue and published report of FOMC.
- Major Asian stock indexes today are traded in different
directions. Oil prices are now showing mixed trends, the U.S.
dollar is growing. August futures for WTI crude oil today are
losing 0.6%, August futures for Brent crude are rising by 0.2%.
Gold today is getting cheaper by 0.03%, silver is reduced by
0.04%. The U.S. dollar is growing by 0.2% against a basket of
currencies. The euro / dollar declines by 0.3%.
