Food prices in May 2011 compared with May 2010 increased by 12.4%

/IRBIS, May 3, 2011/ - Food prices in Kazakhstan in May 2011 compared with May 2010 increased by 12.4%, was indicated in the report released today by the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Statistics. As reported in May 2011 compared with the corresponding month in 2010 prices of cereals increased by 2.1 times, oils and fats - by 23.5%, flour - 19%, fruits and vegetables - by 16.4%, sugar - 16.3%, dairy products - by 10.3%, coffee, tea and cocoa, pasta - by 8.7%, confectionery products - by 7.3%, bread and alcoholic beverages - by 4.6 %. Increase in prices of meat (including meat) during this period was 15%. The price level on the lamb was higher at 18.5%, poultry - by 10.8%, horse meat - by 10.2%, meat products - by 9.8%, pork - 5.5%.
