National Company KazMunayGaz (Kazakhstan) briefs on outlooks as CEO meets with personnel in Atyrau region

/KASE, March 18, 11/ - National Company KazMunayGaz (Astana), whose bonds are officially listed on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), has provided KASE with the following press-release of March 17, 2011: quote On March 17 this year K. Kabyldin, the Chairman of the Management Board of NC KazMunayGaz met up with staff of Embamunaigaz (an operating arm of KazMunaiGas Exploration Production), Atyrau Oil Refinery, West branch of KazTransOil where KazMunayGaz Group's 2010 performance was summarized and issues related to the implementation of the President's Message to the people of Kazakhstan - "Let's build the future together!" - were discussed. While presenting his report on main results, K. Kabyldin, Chairman of the Board of KazMunayGaz stressed that the KazMunayGaz Group did well over what was planned for 2010. Following Kazakhstan Government's resolutions - "On Approval of the Comprehensive Plan for Development of Oil and Gas Industry in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2009-2015" and "On Approval of the Program of Development of Oil and Gas Industry in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2010-2014", NC KazMunayGaz works on modernization and reconstruction of the Atyrau Oil Refinery. The implementation of the "Reconstruction of the vacuum block of the CDU/VDU unit and slow carbonization unit" project will enable the Atyrau Oil Refinery to increase the output of vacuum gas-oil to 800 thousand tons a year, petrol component - to 161 thousand tons a year, diesel oil - to 308 thousand tons a year. The project nears its finish stage, and the operation start is scheduled for 2nd quarter 2011. Another project - "Construction of an Industrial Plant for Production of Aromatic Hydrocarbons" - envisages stepping up the production of high-octane petroleum and diesel meeting the Euro-3, and start of production of components for petrochemical industry (benzene and paraxylene). The project is supposed to be completed in 2013. With a project named "Construction of a Complex for Deep processing of oil" the NC KMG is planning to increase the output of high-octane petroleum, aviation fuel and diesel, to reach a depth of processing of as much as 87%, and to bring the quality of motor fuels to the Euro 4 and 5.
