Investors fear that other governments in the region, followed by the Chinese authorities to take measures to tighten monetary policy to curb the growth of inflationary pressures. Recall from 9 February 2011 the People's Bank of China raised key interest rates on loans and deposits by 25 basis points. Thus, the lending rate for 1 year increased to 6.06% annual interest rate on deposits - up to 3%. Last week, Indonesia's central bank increased borrowing costs for the first time in more than two years, after inflation accelerated in January to 21-month high.
