Food prices in January 2011 compared with January 2010 increased by 12.2%

/IRBIS, February 1, 2011/ - In Kazakhstan, food prices increased by 12.2% in January 2011 compared with January 2010, indicated in the report issued by Agency for Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan today. It is reported that in January of this year compared with the corresponding month of previous year prices on cereals increased by 55.2%, fruit and vegetables - by 28.2%, oils and fats - by 20.6%, sugar - by 12.6%, coffee, tea and cocoa - by 11.4%, dairy products - by 8.8%, confectionery products - by 8.3%, a bakery and pastry products - by 7.6%, eggs - 5.9%, alcoholic beverages - by 4.1%, flour - 3.6%, bread - by 1.9%, Pasta - by 1.3%. The prices for meat and meat products during this period amounted to 15%. The price level on the lamb was higher at 15.4%, poultry - by 10.6%, meat products - by 10.2%, pork - by 7.8%, horse meat - 7.5%.
