Stock indices of emerging markets on Thursday closed mostly in positive
territory. Support was provided by good macroeconomic reports, published in
the United States. Orders for durable goods in the U.S. in November 2010 fell
more than expected. According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, in
November 2010, orders for durable goods without transport sector grew by
2.4%, excluding the defense sector - 2.6%. Consumer sentiment index at
Michigan State University in December 2010, according to revised data, rose to
74.5% from 71.6% in November. Specified value coincided with analysts'
expectations. According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, the volume of
consumer incomes in November 2010 increased by 0.3%, consumer spending -
by 0.4%. Analysts were expecting revenue growth at 0.2% and expenditure
growth at 0.5%. In addition, the Ministry of Labor reported that the number of
initial applications for payment of unemployment benefits for the week that
ended Dec. 18 fell to 420 thousand, which coincided with the expectations of
analysts. In this case, according to updated data, the number of initial
applications for payment of unemployment benefits for the week that ended
Dec. 11 amounted to 423 thousand, not 420 thousand, as previously reported.
However, some pressure was put investors' concerns that the adoption of the
Chinese government for additional measures to combat overheating of certain
sectors of the economy. Ministry of Commerce of China published a decree
according to which state agencies must suspend the approval process for some
foreign investment in real estate with the aim of reducing speculative
transactions.

MSCI EM - a composite index of stock market capitalization of emerging markets
areas. Since May 2005. includes the index values 26 developing countries:
