Stock indices in emerging markets on Tuesday closed mostly lower. Pressure
exerted falling oil prices. Oil prices fell Tuesday amid reports a decrease in
value of the index of business activity in the U.S. in August from 62.3 to 56.7
points. According to the Association of Managers of Chicago, the index of
business activity in the U.S. in August 2010 decreased from 62.3 points to 56.7
points in July. Analysts had expected a decline to 57 points. In addition,
investors are also awaiting release of official data on the state of oil reserves
in the U.S. on the basis of last week. American Petroleum Institute (API)
published a report yesterday that the week that ended Aug. 27, 2010,
commercial oil reserves in the U.S. increased by 4.765 million barrels, gasoline
stocks declined by 589.0 thousand barrels, while distillate stocks - at 1,860
million barrels.
The only exception to the general dynamics of steel markets of Brazil and
Argentina, which trades on the basis of demonstrated growth indices. The
above was due to growth in the U.S. market. Yesterday was published the
index of consumer confidence in the U.S., which rose to 53.5 points. The value
has exceeded forecasts of analysts who had expected 50.5 points.

PFTS Index - the index is calculated daily on the results of bidding Ukrainian
PFTS stock exchange on the basis of weighted average price of transactions. The
"index basket includes the most liquid stocks. which performed the greatest number
of transactions.
MICEX Ind - main index of the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange. including the 30
most liquid stocks of Russian issuers.
RTSI - Russia's stock market index Stock Exchange RTS. Calculated on the basis of
50 securities of most capitalized Russian companies.
MSCI EM - a composite index of stock market capitalization of emerging markets
areas. Since May 2005. includes the index values 26 developing countries:
