According to AFS, Kazakhstan net pension assets reach KTZ2,020.0 billion ($13.3 billion) as of April 1, 2010

/IRBIS, July 23, 2010/ - According to the data of the Agency of the Republic
of Kazakhstan on Regulation and Supervision of Financial Market and
Financial Organizations (AFS), the total amount of net pension assets (PA)
in the republic (total pension assets excluding obligations on charged
commission interests, creditors' debts on pension payments) as of July 1,
2010 reached KTZ2,020.0 billion. (or equivalent of $13,690.0 million at the
weighted average exchange rate effective on the mentioned date).
Corresponding indicator as of June 1, 2010 is KTZ2,001.0 billion or
$13,614.3 million.
In June 2010 net assets of accumulative pension funds (APF) grew by 0.9%
(by 0.4% in dollar terms) relative to the previous month.
As of the beginning of January 2010, the total sum of pension assets made
KZT2,018.5 bn., of which KZT1,981.2 bn. were invested.
Total for June 2010 in the republic were three specialized organizations
engaged in the investment management of pension assets (OOIUPA), and
13 NPF. Nine funds - JSC "Accumulation Pension Fund of the People's
Savings Bank of Kazakhstan", JSC "SPC" SAPF ", JSC NPF BTA
Kazakhstan" TO "BTA Bank", JSC "SPC" Capital ", JSC" SPC "Kazakhmys",
JSC ONPF "Otan", JSC "SPC" Naftogaz-Dem ", JSC" SPC "Republic" and
JSC "Eurasian NPF managed pension assets independently. The share of
PA being managed by these funds was at the beginning of July 2010 74.4%
of the PA of the Republic (on June 1, 2010 - 74.2%).
We recall that the Board of the Republic of Kazakhstan Agency for
regulation and supervision of financial markets and financial institutions from
July 15, 2010 # 112 JSC OOIUPA Orleu was denied a license to operate on
the securities market for regular (three or more times during the twelve
calendar months) the violation of legislation of Kazakhstan regulating activity
in the market of securities.
For the systematic violation of the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan
regulating the activities of pension funds (including those set by the
authorized body of prudential regulations), the Board of the FSA by May 19,
2010 # 70 JSC "Accumulation Pension Fund" Korgau "denied a license to
engage in activities to raise pension contributions and implementation of
pension payments for # 0000017, issued by the National Bank of
Kazakhstan on Dec. 26, 2003.
The following table shows the amount of assets of each fund (million KZT,
unless otherwise indicated), as well as the distribution of assets of NPF on
OOIUPA on July 1, 2010. In parentheses are shown for comparison the
share of the funds and OOIUPA on June 1, 2010.

The biggest APF by the end of June 2010 from the viewpoint of net PA
volume (in descending order of PA amount): APF National Saving Bank of
Kazakhstan JSC, APF SAPF JSC and APF Ular Ymit JSC.
By the volume of the managed assets APF National Savings Bank of
Kazakhstan JSC is still leading (30.6% of all PA in management). The
second place belongs to APF SAPF JSC (15.8%), the third place- APF Ular
Umit JSC (13.6%).
The highest asset growth rate in February, 2010 was recorded in APF
REPUBLIC JSC (4.9% in KZT terms). In absolute monetary terms on the
biggest amount of asset growth the leader is APF Ular Umit JSC (growth by
KZT 13,749.4). The second place by this indicator belongs to APF Halyk
Savings Bank of Kazakhstan JSC (by KZT10,087.3) and the third place
belongs to APF SAPF JSC (growth by KZT5,614.3).
