A detailed plan of assistance to Kyrgyzstan - Mr. Shukeyev

/IRBIS, July 15, 2010/ - The Joint Commission developed an action plan for
economic assistance to Kyrgyzstan, said today Deputy Prime Minister of the
Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Umirzak Shukeyev in Bishkek at a briefing on the
results of the first day of a working group to rebuild the economy of Kyrgyzstan.
"Today is the day we have a seven specialized groups have discussed with the
Kyrgyz side of the main directions of cooperation. As we expected, the main
issues were associated with stabilization of the budget and cover its deficit this
year, the banking sector. In addition, the problems caused by the restoration of
damage in the south of the country, the energy supply in the winter, water and
energy balance, as well as cross-border trade and customs, "- said Mr.
Shukeyev.
As indicated, in his words, by the end of the day joint commission has received
the required results and the resources needed to implement the plan of care.
Currently, the required amount of approximately $ 1 billion
"Potential sources of funding, we see such donors as the World Bank, Asian
Development Bank, Crisis Fund EEC Fund grant of humanitarian assistance.
For example, in the fund of the EurAsEC, Kyrgyzstan has the financing limit of $
210 million now there already is an application for $ 160 million ", - said Mr.
Shukeyev.
Currently, between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan signed a protocol, and within a
month will be refined through a detailed plan for implementing the activities.
