Russia's OJSC UEIP will take part in Russian-Kazakh project center for uranium enrichment

/IRBIS, July 8, 2010/ - Russia's OJSC UEIP will take part in Russian-Kazakh
project of the Centre for uranium enrichment, indicated in the report published
today by the fuel company Rosatom TVEL.
OJSC "UEIP (part of the fuel company TVEL corporation Rosatom) will enter the
draft Rosatom and JSC Kazatomprom" to create an alternative center of
uranium enrichment ", - stated in the message.
As the decision was taken on July 5 as part of the EurAsEC summit. In
particular, the State Corporation "Rosatom" and JSC Kazatomprom have signed
a joint declaration of intent to continue the activities of the Integrated Program
in the field of atomic energy for peaceful purposes through alternative project
designs of central administration (Center for uranium enrichment) by using
power of "UEIP. The original version of the project envisages the creation of
new industrial complex at the site of "AECC", Angarsk.
In a signed statement on July 5, in particular, states that the JSC Kazatomprom
participates in authorized capital of OJSC "UEIP" through CJSC "central
administration". Share will be determined based on the volume of production
services to enrich uranium, sufficient for the processing of 6,000 tons natural
uranium per year. In addition, the main technical and economic performance
and profitability of the alternatives would be similar to the original version of
the Draft of central administration.
JSC Kazatomprom and state corporation "Rosatom" will seek all necessary
approvals, permits and approval from the federal executive authorities of the
Russian Federation and the authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan on
implementation of an alternative to implement to the end of 2010, corporate
events and transactions necessary for the implementation of the Alternative
Project, "- stated in the message.
It is noted that a minority stake in OJSC "UEIP" Company "central
administration" can be purchased at market value at the expense of funding,
which will provide its shareholders on a parity basis. The exact amount of shares
will be determined in the second half of 2010.
JSC "central administration" will not be an independent market player,
competing with Russian suppliers. Marketing of products resulting JSC central
administration "of JSC" UEIP "will be exclusively under the Agreement on
marketing policy of the shareholders of JSC" central administration "(Tenex and
JSC Kazatomprom").
It is assumed that the company "central administration" will purchase products
from OJSC UEIP "on the basis of long-term contract prices, the relevant prices
of supplies from OJSC UEIP" to other customers.
December 7, 2006 the Federal Agency for Atomic Energy of the Russian
Federation and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan
was signed by the Integrated Programme of the Russian-Kazakh cooperation in
the field of atomic energy for peaceful purposes (Integrated Program). In the
framework of cooperation in the nuclear fuel cycle, this program provides for the
establishment on an equal footing joint uranium enrichment venture on Russian
territory power required for processing 6000 tons of natural uranium per year
(Draft central administration). For this purpose, October 27, 2006 was
established by a joint Russian-Kazakh company CJSC "Center for the
enrichment of uranium" (JSC "central administration"), whose shareholders in
equal shares by JSC Kazatomprom and Tenex.
November 20, 2009 in Yalta, State Corporation "Rosatom" and JSC
Kazatomprom was signed by the road map for additional measures to
implement the integrated program consisting of work on the issue of alternative
project designs of central administration.
