In Kazakhstan, food prices in May 2010 compared with May 2009 increased by 5.2%

/IRBIS, June 2, 2010/ - In Kazakhstan, food prices increased by 5.2% in May 2010 compared with May 2009, indicated in the report issued by Agency for Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan for June 2, 2010. It is reported that in May 2010 compared with the corresponding months of 2009, sugar prices rose by 30%, coffee, tea and cocoa - 13.3%, confectionery products - by 8.5%, oils and fats - 6.6%, dairy products - 6%, alcoholic beverages - by 5.8%, bakery and pastry products - by 5.3%. Falling prices noted for flour by 16.8%, cereals - by 6.3%, fruit and vegetables - by 2.6%, bread - 2.4%, pasta - by 0.7%. Increase in prices of meat and meat products during this period amounted to 9.4%. The level of pork prices was higher at 10.7%, meat products - by 7.8%, mutton - by 4.8%, horse meat - 3.7%, poultry - by 3.3%.
