BTA Bank creditors to meet and discuss restructuring May 28, 2010

/KASE, May 17, 10/ - BTA Bank (Almaty), bonds of which are listing on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), issued a statement: Quotation begins HEREWITH WE NOTIFY - BTA Bank, in accordance with the order of the Almaty special financial court (the Court) of October 16, 2009, is calling for the meeting ("the Creditors Meeting") of certain financial creditors for purposes of consideration, and, in case of agreement, approval of the proposed restructuring plan between the Bank and the Creditors ("the Restructuring Plan"). The Restructuring Plan is detailed in the Information Memorandum dated May 1, 2010, released with the Bank (as may be amended from time to time - "the Information Memorandum"), released at www.bta.kz The Creditors Meeting will be held in Almaty May 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. (Almaty time) in hotel "Dostyk" at 36 Kurmangazy str., Almaty, 050021, Kazakhstan (tel: +7 727 2582270). We request all Creditors, except for Eurobond holders, to attend the meeting at the mentioned time and place in person or through a trustee. Each Creditor or their trustee must register before the meeting. Register beginning 10:00 a.m. (Almaty time) May 27, 2010 and 10:00 a.m. (Almaty time) May 28, 2010. The Agenda of the Creditors Meeting - consideration, and, in case of accord, approval of the Restructuring plan. The quorum is two third of liabilities subject to restructuring. Creditors may vote personally or through a trustee, regardless if such a person is a creditor. We request the Creditors to provide a form of a letter of trustee to persons, whose data are indicated in the Information Memorandum. Each Creditor must comply with own corporate requirements to be properly authorized for voting and assigning a representative based on letter of trustee. The Restructuring plan is detailed in the Information Memorandum available at the bank site at www.bta.kz. Forms of letter of trustee and claiming applications, providing for the choice of the restructuring option are as well provided in the Information Memorandum and available at the bank corporate site www.bta.kz We request the creditors to submit letters of trustee to the Bank before 17:00 p.m. (Almaty time) on May 19, 2010, however, the letters may be accepted at Chairman's discretion any time before the Meeting. Please, bear in mind, trust managers representing Euro bond holders and Creditors, whose claims are the subject of the dispute, may provide letters of trustee and claiming applications before 10:00 a.m. (Almaty time) May 26, 2010.
