Total amount of loans of banks in Kazakhstan's economy decreased by 0.7%in March 2010 - National Bank of Kazakhstan

/IRBIS, May 5, 2010/ - The total amount of principal on loans of banks in Kazakhstan's economy decreased by 0.7% to KZT7,600.6 billion in March 2010, said today the National Bank of Kazakhstan. As indicated, the amount of debt on loans in national currency remained unchanged at KZT3,964.4 bln in foreign currencies - fell by 1.5% to KZT3,636.2 billion. Share loans of tenge in March 2010 compared with February 2010 increased from 51.8% to 52.2%. Long-term loans fell by 0.9% to KZT6,383.1 billion, short-term - increased by 0.3% to KZT1,217.5 billion. As a result, the proportion of long term loans in March 2010 compared with February 2010 decreased from 84.1% to 84.0%. The amount of debt on loans to legal entities for March 2010 decreased by 0.7% to KZT5,452.8 billion, individuals - by 0.8% to KZt2,147.8 billion. As a result, the share of loans to individuals for the month has not changed, remaining at the level of 28.3%. The credit debt of small businesses in March 2010 compared with February 2010 decreased by 0.3% to KZT1,700.9 billion, which is 22.4% of total credits to economy. In the sectoral breakdown of the most significant amount of debt on loans accounted for the economy to sectors such as trade (share in total volume - 23.3%), construction (19.5%), industry (9.6%) and agriculture (3.7%). In March 2010 the weighted average interest rate on loans issued in local currency to non-banking entities decreased from 15.3% to 14.2% and individuals - from 21.0% to 20.9%. [2010-05-05]
