/IRBIS, February 16, 2010/ - Agriculture of Kazakhstan up to 2009, showed an increase of 13.8% stated in the February 15 report issued by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. According to the report, the gross grain harvest in the initial weight for the period amounted to more than 23 million tons and surpassed 2008 by 36%. Collected about 800 tonnes of oilseeds, total yield of rice increased by 23% and reached 312 thousand tons. Growth of potato production was 19%. 16% increased yield of fruit crops and grapes, 17% more harvested hay and silage. In the past year increased livestock: cattle - on 2.1%, sheep and goats - on 3.7%, horses - 3.6%; camels - 4%, poultry - by 9.3%, pigs -- by 0.2%. It is reported that within the anti-crisis program of the Government in 2009, 6.9 billion tenge from the National Fund was aimed at lending to enterprises for processing agricultural products and food production. Second-tier banks have issued to enterprises of industry, processing agricultural products, 107.3 billion tenge loans. In total in 2009 were funded 41 projects for the processing of agricultural products.
