Summary of sociol-economic development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for January 2010

(Agency) has published today on its website (www.stat.kz) the outcome of the
socio-economic development of the Republic of Kazakhstan in January 2010.
It is reported that the gross domestic product, according to operative data, in
January-December 2009 amounted at current prices 15 887.8 billion KZT.
Compared with the same period in 2008, real GDP grew by 1.2%. In the structure
of the GDP share of production of goods amounted to 43.8%, services - 54.8%.
Investment in fixed capital in January 2010 amounted to KZT175.9 billion, that on
2.9% more than during the same period last year.
Credit investments of banks in the second level in sectors of the economy at the
end of December 2009 amounted to KZT7,644.1 billion and increased to 2.5%
compared with the corresponding period of last year. In the total amount of loans
the share of long-term loans amounted to 84.1%, loans in foreign currency -
48.4%. The volume of deposits in depository institutions amounted to KZT6,473.0
billion, which is 19.7% more than in the corresponding month last year, deposits
of individuals amounted to KZT1,893.1 billion and increased by 28,5%.
