Kazakhstan and Ukraine are negotiating tariff for transit of Kazakh oil to Europe

/IRBIS, February 11, 2010/ - Kiev and Astana are negotiating tariff for transit of
Kazakh oil to Europe through Ukrainian territory, as a result of which may be
signed new contracts, said in a published report today, the RIA Novosti with
reference to the statement by the Minister of Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy
Prodan.
Prodan said that negotiations caring out Ukrtransnafta JSC and KazTransOil.
"They're coming commercial negotiations on the price of transportation. If the
parties meet each other on the quantities and costs of transportation, it will be
signed by the relevant documents", - added words of the Minister in the
message.
According sold, Ukrtransnafta interested to get more profit from their activities.
Recall that KazTransOil reported that reorients its deliveries to Europe via
Poland. The company delivers Kazakh oil to Eastern Europe through Ukraine to
the southern branch of the Druzhba pipeline. According to the company,
Ukrtransnafta OJSC notified in writing that they broke with the January 26, 2010
agreement on transporting Kazakh oil through Ukraine. The reason for
terminating the contract with the Ukrainian side has not voiced. In this
connection, the Kazakh side was "to seek alternative directions of export of
Kazakh oil".
