/IRBIS, December of 14, 09/ - President of Kazakhstan Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev met with the leaders of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and China participated in the opening ceremony of the gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan- China in the City Turkmenabat, - it's indicated in the statement issued today's press service of the President Republic of Kazakhstan. As indicated in the message, the pipeline is laid across the four countries. Its total length is about 7,000 km. At the same time laid on the territory of Turkmenistan 188 km, Uzbekistan - 525 km, Kazakhstan - 1,293 km and China - 4,860 km. The pipeline will connect a network of fields in Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan and will be strategically important for the future economy of the region and markets in China and Southeast Asia. "The implementation of the pipeline will increase the income of project participants, not only through the sale of produced gas, but also by attracting more Chinese investments in exploration and production of promising gas fields needed to fill the pipeline to the extent of its expansion. State party's income will also rise by charging transit fees. Functioning of the pipeline as it develops will require upgrading of infrastructure in urban areas of the project participants along the route the pipe, as well as create new jobs, attract the supply of local materials and equipment", - stated in the message.
