Wage level in Republic of Kazakhstan in May 2009

/IRBIS, July 14, 09/ - Statistics Agency of Republic of Kazakhstan released today the information message on wage level in May 2009 at it official website: Quotation start In May 2009, average nominal wage per employee was KZT65,013 and increased compared with the corresponding month of last year by 9.6 %, in real terms - by 1.1 %, in January-May - respectively KZT63,583 and by 12.2 %, real wage index was 103.2 %. In the industrial structure still the highest wages are kept in financial activities - KZT126.0 th. (in 1,9 times exceeds the national level), in the mining industry - KZT114.3 th. (in 1.8 times ), in operations with real estate - KZT100.4 th. (in 1.5 times), as well as in transport and communications - KZT87.3 th. (in 1.3 times). The lowest wages are retained in fishing - KZT33.0 th., which is lower than the average in the country in 49.2 %. At regional level the highest wages are kept in the Atyrau oblast - KZT125.8 th., that is 1.9 times higher than the average. In North Kazakhstan region its value amounted to KZT43.2 th., Zhambyl - KZT43.2 th., which is by 33.6 % below the national average. Quotation end [2009-07-14]
