Kaspi Bank (Kazakhstan) attracts USD45 m. from Dutch State Corporation for business development (FMO)

/KASE, May 25, 09/ - Kaspi Bank (Almaty), securities of which are listed on
Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), provided KASE with a press release:
Quotation beginning
Kaspi bank attracted long-term financing from Dutch State Corporation for
business development (FMO). This is the first loan received under cooperation
with FMO.
FMO allotted USD45 m. for 5 years so that the bank finances small and middle
businesses.
- Attracted funds and our further cooperation may be named indicative amidst the
harsh situation on international capital markets, - kaspi bank chairman Mikhail
Lomtadze said. - FMO is a strategic partner, and having attracted these funds,
we will improve our positions in Kazakhstan credting segment. USD45 m.
attracted from FMO is recognition of kaspi bank stability, its clear strategy,
openness and reliability.
FMO financial institutions head Rurd Brauer commented: "Small and middle
businesses are a driver of Kazakhstan economy. We know many businesses face
difficulties receiving financing, and we are pleased, that FMO may support those
through kaspi bank and its credit activity growth".
- Our main task is to finance Kazakhstan economy development, - says
Lomtadze. - Carrying out active credit policy and providing credits to
businesses and population, we are contributing largely to economy development.
Small and middle businesses became a key sector, which was supported by the
state through negative influence of global economical crisis; however businesses
are still in great need of funds.
