/KASE, May 18, 09/ - According to trade in shares on the Kazakhstan Stock
Exchange (KASE) on May 15, 2009 KASE Index grew 16.85 points (1.6 %) from
1,071.28 to 1,088.13.
The first deal fixed the index at 1,078.65. During the trade the index peaked
1,095.31, with the minimum - 1,068.94.
Volume of deals in representative list stocks on May 15 grew against the
previous trading day in tenge by 3.0 times and reached KZT88.5 m.
(USD588.9 th.).

The KASE Index shows a change in prices of the index representative list stocks
for calculation of the index, with account to capitalization of such issuers and
a number of such stocks in free float. One stock's ratio must not exceed 15 %.
The KASE Index is calculated during a trading day as deals in the representative
list stocks are concluded. If during a trading day no deals are made in a
representative list stock, then for purposes of such calculation results of the
last resultant trade session are used.
