/KASE, April 23, 09/ - KazMunaiGas Exploration Production (Astana), shares of which are listed on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), issued a statement today: Quotation beginning JSC KazMunaiGas Exploration Production ("the Company" or "KMG EP") announces that pursuant to the Share Buy Back Programme commenced on 24 November, 2008, on April 22, 2009 the Company acquired 45,009 global depository receipts ("GDR") on the London Stock Exchange at an average price USD17.00 a GDR. Since the start of the Share Buy Back Programme, the Company has purchased in aggregate 4,616,697 GDRs and 85,277 common shares.
