Financial corporation Seymar Alliance decides on sale of 76 % common shares of Alliance Bank (Kazakhstan) to Fund of national wellbeing Samruk-Kazyna

/KASE, February 2, 09/ - Alliance Bank (Almaty), a company listed on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), provided KASE with a press release as follows: Quotation beginning The major shareholder of Alliance Bank - Financial Corporation Seymar Alliance made a decision on sale of 76 % voting stock of the Bank to Fund of national wellbeing Samruk-Kazyna. This decision was made in agreement of the parties for purposes of further capitalization of the Bank and enhancement of its financial stability. Fund Samruk-Kazyna and Alliance Bank agreed on participation of the bank in all actions specified by the Plan of joint activities of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Regulation and Supervision of Financial Market and Financial Organizations (AFS) for stabilization of economy and financial system for 2009-2010". Alliance Bank will become an operator of the funds allocated by the Government for support of necessary objects of crediting of the real sector, including within the bounds of the state program for support of private entrepreneurship implemented by the Fund of development of small entrepreneurship Damu. Today, on February 2, 2009 Fund Samruk-Kazyna and Alliance Bank signed an agreement on depositing of KZT24 bn. in the Bank for support of financial sustainability and further capitalization of the Bank. Financial Corporation Seymar Alliance will remain an Alliance Bank shareholder. All management bodies of Alliance Bank operate in the former composition, and all changes will be made in accordance with current rules on corporate governance.
