KASE discontinues the market valuation of bonds XS0244509963 of JPMorgan Chase Bank, National Association and XS0240118017 Merrill Lynch & Co., inc

/KASE, January 15, 09/ - From January 19, 2009, Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) discontinues the following bonds market valuation issued by the below mentioned issuers in compliance with the legislation of another, other than the Republic of Kazakhstan, states: - bonds of JPMorgan Chase Bank, National Association (Columbus City, Ohaio, USA) of issue XS0244509963 (US_JPM_e1, KZT13.2 bn.; February 14, 06 - February 14, 16; the semi-annual coupon indexed on the inflation rate in Kazakhstan); - bonds of Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc (New-York, USA) of issue XS0240118017 (US_MER_e1, $100.0 m., January 5, 06 - January 11, 21, free floating indexed at KZT to USD devaluation rate semi-annual coupon, depending on the inflation rate in Kazakhstan, served in KZT at market-makers rate). The mentioned bonds market valuation has been discontinued because according to accessible for KASE information from December 18, 2008 took effect resolution # 165 of the Board of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Regulation and Supervision of Financial Market and Financial Organizations (AFS) of October 29, 2008, in compliance with which Rules of Financial Instruments Valuation, Present in Accumulative Pension Funds Investment Portfolios, approved by resolution # 109 of the AFS Board of March 26, 2005, were supplemented by the new item, establishing that debt securities valuation, circulating on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and issued by organization - non-residents of the Republic of Kazakhstan in compliance with the legislation of another, other than the Republic of Kazakhstan, states within agreements between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and these organizations, is made at the acquisition value. We remind that KASE had to start the market value of US_JPM_e1 and US_MER_e1 from autumn of 2008 due to the absence of regular quotations on mentioned bonds in the Bloomberg information system, and due to the presence of mentioned bonds in investment portfolios of accumulative pension funds of Kazakhstan.
