Quotation start KazMunaiGas Exploration Production ("the Company" or "KMG EP") announces that pursuant to the Share Buy Back Programme commenced on November 24, 2008, on December 23, 2008 the Company acquired 10,000 global depositary receipts ("GDRs") (LSE:KMG) on the London Stock Exchange at an average price of $12.9600 per GDR, and 319 ordinary shares, placed on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange at an average price KZT9,430 per ordinary share. Since the start of the Share Buy Back Programme, the Company has purchased in aggregate 236,156 GDRs and 11,946 ordinary shares.
