/KASE, November 4, 08/ - BTA Bank (Almaty), securities of which are traded in
Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) official list, provided today to KASE the
press release on the following:

The largest bank of Kazakhstan BTA Bank increased its stake in the authorized
capital of BTA Bank (Belarus) from 48.94% to 99.29% through acquisition of
shares, previously owned by other bank shareholders. As a result of the deal, BTA
Bank became the owner of the control packet of shares of Belarusian BTA Bank.
"BTA Bank considers Belarus as of the most attractive markets in CIS. Favorable
economic and geographic location of the country, dynamic growth of macro-
economic indicators, and the active consumer market opens broad perspectives
for this country banking sector development. Consolidation of the Belarusian bank
in the BTA group composition is one of the important steps towards this objective
implementation", - emphasized Chairman of BTA Bank Board Roman
Solodchenko.
As a result of BTA Bank stake, the Belarusian BTA Bank acquired the status of
the subsidiary bank. The deal was concluded within the consolidation plans and
became one of the basic phases of the strategy 2015 implementation that
foresees up to 5% increase of BTA Bank stake on the Belarusian banking
services market.
