BTA Bank (Kazakhstan) informs on introduction of the information safety management system in compliance with the ISO 27001 international standard

/KASE, October 20, 08/ - BTA Bank (Almaty), securities of which are traded in
Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) official list, provided to KASE the press
release on the following:

BTA Bank is the only Kazakhstan bank, which completed introduction of the
Information Safety Management System (ISMS) in compliance with the ISO
27001 international standard, developed by British Standards Institute (BSI).
The ISMS area covers the system of distance banking services provision to legal
entities "BTA-Online", which after certification was acknowledged by the
international experts as the highest protection level product.
The receipt of ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certificate will allow BTA Bank increasing the
confidence in investment companies, and strengthen confidence in debtors that
the bank is able to keep entrusted information, as ISMS excludes the risk of
information safety threat.
The ISO/IEC 27001:2005 standard establishes requirements for determination,
implementation, management, monitoring, evaluation, maintenance and
continuous improvement of documented ISMS. This standard is the only
applicable for certification standard, determining requirements for ISMS.
ISMS development and introduction in compliance with the ISO 27001 standard is
the important part of the bank's IT-strategy development and BTA strategy in
whole to become the international financial institution and enter the number of
largest banks of the world.
ISMS of BTA Bank was drafted and introduced by the Russian company
"Informzashita".
