Nearest oil futures prices decreased 1.76 % - 2.17 % on major world trading floors

/IRBIS, Dinara Mukasheva, August 29, 08/ - By the results of trades of
August 28 this year:
- on NYMEX (New York) the price of Light Sweet Crude Oil mixture with
delivery in October 2008 decreased by 2.17 % to $115.59 per barrel;
- on ICE (London) price of October Brent Forties Oseburg futures fell by
1.76 % to $114.17 per barrel
After three days of growth, on Thursday oil started to fall on USA Ministry of
Energy announcement on considerable increase of gas reserves in the country. It
was taken by the market as a regular sign of demand decreasing on fuel due to low
rates of USA economy growth.
On the other hand, reinforcement of tropic storm Gustav in Gulf of Mexico to the
hurricane of first category supports oil. The USA National Hurricane Centre
forecast hurricane to reinforce to the forth category and reach the cost of
Louisiana and Taxes on September 1. Besides, there is a possibility that Gustav
may become as strong as Katrina and Rita hurricanes and make disasters in this
region.
