/INTERFAX-AFI, New York, August 22, 08/ - Warren Buffet considers that
existence of USA two major mortgage agencies as independent companies
came end, Bloomberg informed.
"The game is over, - the world richest man and the head of Berkshire
Hathaway said in interview to CNBC on Friday, according to Forbes. - They
were allowed to get unlimited loans. They got carte blanche (for loans) from
the Federal government".
During the day trades, a day before, share value of Fannie and Freddie fell to
its lowest in 20 years on anxieties that the government will have to save
these two companies, the stake of which constitutes for more than half of the
USA mortgage market with $12 trl.
Last month the USA Minister of Finance Henry Polson gained permission of
Congress on providing capital for mortgage companies (in the form of credits
or shares purchase) in case of necessity. However, according to bids, the
USA Ministry of Finance has not plans to use this possibility, preferring to
retain it in case of the market conditions get worse.
