Kazakhtelecom JSC (Kazakhstan) informed on results on its cooperation development with foreign telecoms operators for the first quarter of 2008

/KASE, July 28, 08/ - Kazakhtelecom JSC (Astana), shares of which are traded
in Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) category "A" official list, provided to KASE
the press release of the following content:

In the first half of 2008, Kazakhtelecom JSC actively modernized existing and
construction of new telecommunications network joints with international
telecoms operators.
On the site Zharkent - Horgos (Almaty Region) was extended the joint with
Chinese operator "China Telecom". On the same site was organized the joint with
another Chinese operator "China Unicom".
The joint with Uzbektelecom on the site Abai - Pakhta (South-Kazakhstan
Region) was extended. On the site Uralsk - B. Chernigovka (West-Kazakhstan
Region) was organized and is being piloted the joint wit Russian operators
"Sovintel" and "Synterra".
During the reporting period Kazakhtelecom JSC signed MOUs on construction of
the border joint of networks with companies "China Network Communications
Group" and "China Tietong", and also on the cooperative project "Transit Asia-
Europe" with "China Unicom" and "Golden Telecom".
In addition, Kazakhtelecom JSC signed the number of agreements with foreign
telecommunications companies. Thus, with Chinese "China United
Telecommunications Corporation" was signed the agreement on internetworking
cooperation. With Rostelecom OJSC - Agreement on provision of
telecommunications services on connection to Internet port. With "Verizon
Business" (USA) was signed the agreement on commercial cooperation to
organize international channels. Also, the framework agreement was signed
between Kazakhtelecom JSC and "Ancotel" (Germany) on organization of POP in
Frankfurt.
In the first half of 2008, was extended Kazakhtelecom JSC data transmission
network to external Internet ports with 1930 Mbit/c to 4850 Mbit/c.
