Kazakhstan production grows 3.8 % in Q1 of 2008/2007

/REUTERS, Almaty, July 11, 08/ - The growth rate of the industrial production in Kazakhstan in the first quarter of 2008 reduced to 3.8% compared to 6.8% in January-June of 2007, informed Statistics Agency at www.stat.kz. "The growth of production volume is observed in all regions, except Karaganda (94.8%) and Kizylorda (98.3%) and also Astana (85.1%) and Almaty (90.9%)" - is said in the report. In acting prices in January - June, 2008 the industrial products were produced on prices KZT5.337 trl. Production of mineral resource industry increased by 6.7% in the first half of year 2008, including oil production - by 7.8%, coal - by 19.8%, natural gas - by 15.6%. Volume of energy, gas and water production and distribution grew in January- June by 9.0%.
