Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC borrowed USD+950 m. for 5 mths of 2008

/KASE, June 13, 08/ - Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC (Astana), securites of which are traded in official list of Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) of category "A", provided KASE with the press release, which informs as follows: Quotation start For 5 months of 2008 Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC borrowed USD+950 m. and signed an agreement on credit lines for the total of USD700 m. In addition, the bank has almost finished the work to borrow USD400 m. in Q3 2008. Significant insrease in borrowing complies with the strategic development plan of DBK for 2008-2011. This year DBK plans to enlarge financing of production and infrastructure sector with beneficial terms and rates, despite of the market conditions, and to continue playing an important role to implement state investment policy. As was noted by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of DBK Mukan Sagindykov, the active role of the Government and national institues of development in support of financial sector, financing large infrastructure projects through tools of government-private partnership, and improvement of the legislative base, facilitating inflow of capital into the country, are the main factors in successful attraction of financial resources from foreign banks to variuos sectors of economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The loans may provide the funding base for investment in 2008 and 2009. DBK has in its plans to renew deals on offering of the fifth tranche Euro bonds at occurrence of a so called favorable "investment window". Quotation end [2008-06-13]
