Industrial production in Kazakhstan grew by 3.8% in January-May

/INTERFAX-KAZAKHSTAN, Astana, June 11, 08/ - In Kazakhstan in
January-May 2008 were produced the industrial products for KZT4243.1
bn. (current 120.70/$1), which is by 3.8% more that for the similar period of
year 2007, the state statistics agency informed on Wednesday.
At that, as the statistics agency notes, in the reporting period the growth of
production volumes was observed in all regions of the republic, except
Karaganda, where the physical volume index made 94.5%, Akmola (97.2%)
and Kyzylorda region (98.6%), and also Astana (85%) and Almaty (91.6%)
cities.
According to the message, in the mining industry the growth of production
volumes for the reporting period made 6.7%, in electricity, gas and water
distribution - 7.9%, meanwhile in the processing industry the 0.7%-ge
reduction was fixed.
