Exploration Production KazMunaiGas JSC (Kazakhstan) to replace the daughter organization of NC KMG by shelf of Caspian

/REUTERS, Astana, Raushan Nurshaeva, May 29, 2008, IRBIS/ - Oil and Gas Company Exploration Production KazMunaiGas wants to replace the daughter organization of national company KazMunaiGas (NC KMG) - KazMunaiTengiz in projects of oilfield exploitation on Caspian shelf. Dostan Abdugafarov, managing director on projects developing of EP KMG told about it to journalists and analysts during open day on Thursday. "We ask the national company to admit us in participation in Caspian shelf for a long time already" - he said. "We have experience of management" - Abdugafarov added. Managing director on oil and gas production Sisengali Utegaliev in its turn told that it will take much time to decide this question. "We won't decide the question this year. Exploration Production impresses by its highly-qualified staff. KazMunaiTengiz is more managing company and conducts negotiations on initial stage" - he said. "After exploration comes production and it is rational to adjoin Exploration Production with its potential" - Utegaliev added. Answering the question whether EP KMG can substitute KazMunaiTengiz in exploitation project of Kashagan oilfield, Utegaliev said "it is out of the question". Today, KazMunaiTengiz, being 100% daughter organization of NC KMG, participates in exploitation of such projects as Kashagan, Tyb-Karagan, Atash, Kurmangazi, Aral, Zhemchuzhini on Caspian shelf. Besides, block H, Darhan, Abai, Isatai, Zhambyl are promising projects of the company. [2008-05-29]
