National bank of Kazakhstan described the GS market in January 2008

/IRBIS, February 14, 08/ - The National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan in its regulative press-release, dedicated to the state of the republic's financial market, cited information about the state of GS market in Kazakhstan in January 2008. Quotation start In January 2008 the Ministry of finance offered 3 months' MEKKAM and also 8-years' long-term saving MEUJKAM for total amount of KZT24.0 bn. Effective yield on offered securities totaled: on short-term MEKKAM - 7.18%, on long-term MEUJKAM - 0.8 under inflation rate. Maturity of GS of Ministry of finance in January 2008 made KZT1.4 bn. As the result, their volume in circulation as of end of January made KZT530.1 bn., having increased since beginning of year by 4.8%. Issue volume of notes of the National bank in January 2008 compared to December 2007 decreased by 26.7% to KZT104.7. Yield of short-term notes increased from 5.63% in December 2007 to 6.05% in January 2008. Maturity of notes of National bank considering remuneration payment for January 2008 made KZT148.5 bn.
