/KASE, January 30, 08/ - Company KAZAKHMYS PLC (London), common
shares of which are traded in Kazakhstan stock exchange's (KASE)
category "A" official list had provided KASE with the press-release informing
of the following:

Brief production report of Kazakhmys PLC for 12 months and fourth quarter,
finished on December 31, 2007.
- Production of cathode copper for the year, finished on December 31 of
2007, meets the managerial expectations, cited in the production report
for the third quarter. General production of cathode copper for the period
made 380* th. tons, out of which 341 th. tons were produced from the
own raw materials.
- Production of cathodes from own raw materials increased by 7%
compared with the previous quarter to 92 th. tons.
- Production of accompanying production in general over the year can be
positively evaluated in comparison with year 2006:
- Production of zinc in concentrate increased by 3% to 133 th. tons,
due to the growth of production volumes of ore that contains zinc.
- Production of silver decreased by 12% because of reduction in
extraction volumes of ores, containing silver.
- Production of gold increased by 6% to 113 th. ounces, reflecting
higher concentration of gold in the ore.
- By the end of year, the improvement in the terms of delivery of the
ordered equipment was noticed, which eased the situation around the
presence, maintenance and repayment of mining equipment and
technology. Availability of equipment and delivery remain the key priority
in the work of the top management.
- As it was planned in January, 08, extraction of ore has been started on
the newly opened Abyz mine and on the new Akbastau mine.
- Data on Kazakhmys Gold and Kazakhmys Petroleum are given in this
report for their first time.
- Kazakhmys Gold had received the extension of the term of the
license for exploration of a great gold field Bozymchak in
Kyrgyzstan.
- Kazakhmys Petroleum has started prospect drilling of a borehole
on a shallow northern field and conducting seismic tests on a
southern field.
Oleg Novachuk, General Director of Kazakhmys PLC told: "In 2007, we
confronted some production difficulties, especially with the delays in delivery
of equipment and because of a flood on the Southern mine. Closer to the
end of year, improvements in several fields were noticed, and also a new
concentrating mill has been set in operation, modernization of two other
concentrating mills was completed, and extraction of ore has been started
on the mines Abys and Akbastau. We expect that year 2008 will be
favorable for us and will allow us increasing the production, and also
extending implementation of our programs for improvement of operational
indicators. In 2008, we plan to realize several new projects and
modernization projects, to conduct a further work regarding the main assets
of growth and to continue paying a special attention to success of our main
activity together with other directions of our strategy".
