Offering of depositary receipts by Alliance Bank and Kazakhstan Kagazy were included to the number of large floatations of this year in EEMEA region

/INTERFAX-AFI, Moscow, December 21, 07/ - The leader by volume of trades with depositary receipts (DR) on shares in the region of Eastern Europe, Near East and Africa (EEMEA) by results of year 2007 had become Gazprom OJSC - more than $113 bn., is informed in the annual report of Bank of New York Mellon. At that in year 2006 sum of deals with DR of company made $69 bn. (growth by more than 500%), which was the second in size indicator in the world after LUKOIL OJSC, volume of operations with DR of which made $74 bn. (growth by 128%). In year 2007 both companies are taken not the first positions in world list of more traded DR. Total volume of deals with DR in the EEMEA region in the current year exceeded $510 bn., which is by 46% higher than indicator for last year. To the number of most actively traded securities of the region are included also DR of LUKOIL, MSC Norilskiy Nicel, Vympelkom OJSC and Mobile Telesystems OJSC. In other countries of EEMEA the leaders in volumes of operations had become DR of South-African companies Gold Fields, AngloGold Ashanti and Harmony Gold Mining, and also Israeli Teva Pharmaceuticals. This year companies of region held 34 deals for borrowing of funds by offering of DR for amount of $19.3 bn. In particular, VTB bank in May during initial offering of shares (IPO) received about $8.8 bn. in general and $5.2 bn. by account of selling of receipts on London stock exchange (LSE). It was the second in size offering of DR for the whole history. Among big offerings of this year in report of Bank of New York Mellon are also noted offerings of securities by Russian отмечаются AFI Development, Uralkaliy OJSC, Magnitogorskiy metallurgic combine OJSC, and also Kazakhstan Alliance Bank and Kazakhstan Kagazy. Two country's indices of DR, which had showed best results in the world, are coming for EEMEA region. These are Russian and Turkish indicators, which demonstrated yield in size of more than 100% for past year.
