/KASE, October 28, 07/ - Company KAZAKHMYS PLC (London), common shares
of which are traded in Kazakhstan stock exchange's (KASE) category "A"
official list had provided KASE with the press-release in which
the following is informed:

Brief production report of Kazakhmys PLC for nine months and third quarter,
finished on September 30, 2007.
- General production of cathode copper for the first nine months of year
2007 made 277.1* th. tons, which is by 6% less than for similar period of
year 2006.
- Total volume of produced cathode copper decreased by 5% in
third quarter compared to previous quarter, to 86.7 th. tons, while
production of cathodes from own concentrate increased by 8% to
85.9 th. tons, due to processing of raw materials, accumulated
earlier.
- Production of accompanying production as a whole reflected the lower
level of ore extraction:
- Production of zinc in concentrate for first nine months of 2007
made 101.2 th. tons, which is by 6% less in comparison to similar
period of 2006.
- Production of gold from own concentrate increased by 3%, while
production of silver decreased by 7%, compared to first 9 months
of year 2006.
- Exploitation readiness and effectiveness of usage of equipment continue
to influence on volumes of production, though it can be seen the
improvements in some fields, it remains the priority in work of state.
Oleg Novachuk, General Director of Kazakhmys PLC told: "As it was mentioned
in production information, published earlier in this month, volume
of production decreased in past quarter, and despite we are trying to
increase volume of production in the rest months of this year, the production
of cathode copper from own ore in year 2007 possibly will be lower then
level of year 2006. Main tasks, under which the management is working
now, are maximal increase of effectiveness of existing organizations and
also realization of different projects of development and widening of the
company, and I will be glad to provide the latest information about
production indicators of the company in preliminary report for year 2007".
